Visiting the In-Laws
As soon as I get off of work today the boy & I are headed to visit the in-laws. It's actually my sister in-law's 11th birthday & I'm going to shoot her birthday party at the Horse Stables. I also have two other shoots this weekend that I am looking forward to. Not to mention we're staying at one of my very best friends new house. She has a guest suite attached on the side of the house which will end up being super convienent for us as we'll be in & out at all hours. I love getting away on the weekends & I am really looking forward to my Saturday night engagement shoot since downtown Albany has so much character. I probably won't be posting until I get back on Monday. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

The summer before I was going to be in fourth grade I, at 9 years old, made the decision that I wanted to get all of my hair chopped off. I guess even at that age I thought it would made getting up so early in the morning a tad bit easier as it would be one thing less to do. So, my reluctant mother agreed & took me to get the then "fashionable" bowl cut. I believe she took my two younger brothes too. The three of us came home with the same hair cut & I couldn't have been happier. Until the first day of school came around, that is. When I hung my bookbag up on a peg on the "girls" side & someone behind me said "Why is that boy hanging his bookbag on the girls side?" As crazy as it may seem now, I was very shy. I remember standing there frozen, when I heard "That's not a boy stupid." I turned around to find a strawberry blonde girl (who I later found out was as shy as me if not more) who invited me to share a desk with her. She told me her name was Kasie. We shared a desk through 4th grade & were inseperable after that. We went from swapping boyfriends, having sleepovers, getting our drivers licenses & writing "BFF" & "Future Mrs. Whoever" on our school notebooks to college, careers, marriage & now children. Almost 15 years to the date we met, she has this beautiful little boy named Brycen who I just could not help but photograph. It seems crazy to me that so much time has passed. I can't wait to see where we are another 15 from now.
Kasie, Brad & Brycen - thank you for letting me come & capture some special moments between your family. Brycen is precious & I look forward to taking many more photos in the years to come.

Verena & Allen - TWO babies!

Aren't pregnant bellies sweet? The wonderful Jessica Flynn let me tag along with her on Sunday night to a preggo shoot she had planned with some good friends of her & husband Grant's, Allen & Verena. I know you can't tell it in this one photo alone, in fact - you can't tell in any of the photos that this woman is 7 months pregnant with twins!! I know women that would kill to look like her at 7 months pregnant with just one baby. I had such a blast visiting w/ Jessica, Grant, Kiera, Allen & Verena. Allen & I even networked a little. I'll be posting more photos after Jess & I go over them.
I am finally feeling like I'm getting back to my old self. Saturday & most of Sunday were miserable for me. I had never had food poisoning before & would prefer to never go anywhere near the likes of it again. I like the normal spunky me, much better. Especially since I have a packed week ahead of me with 4 shoots scheduled this week. I thinks sometimes I myself forget I work a full time job on top of doing photography part time. lol. So be expecting lots of updates in the near future!

Check out those eyes!
This is DJ, he is 3 years old & is one of my seniors (and long time friends) little brother. He is a total hoot. I had nursery at church Sunday morning & of course I brought my camera. The kids love taking pictures, but DJ - he is such a ham. He would say "Oh, DJ so handsome!" lol. It's the moments when they actually slow down enough for me to capture a sweet smile that totally make it worth the 2 hours of having to run around & chase them.
I plan on posting every day & figured I might run out of things to post, but this week has booked up pretty fast for me so be on the look out!

Once A Day Posts...
This has to be once of my all time favorite shots. It makes me wish I was a kid again. It also completely captures the type of photos I love to take - real moments.
On a totally different note, I've decided to update my blog once a day from now on.
I might run out of things to blog, so I'm open to any suggestions. :)

Family & Babies
Like I said before I know, I know, I've been slacking. But I figured I'd make up for it with 1st birthday party photos. :) Meet baby Nancy. She turned 1 in July & I'm unfortunately just now getting to post the photos. She had the neatest pool party & all, & I mean ALL of her buddies turned out to wish her a very happy 1st birthday. Nancy's family are the sweetest people. We had a blast & i'm so glad they welcomed me into their home (& backyard) to share this special day with them. Nancy is a total doll baby & I'm really looking forward to taking her Christmas photos in the next few weeks. Enjoy!
ps - If you know me on a personal level then you know my family (which consists of a younger sister, a future B-I-L, two younger brothers, a girlfriend (not mine of course) my husband & my Mom & Dad) loves to play tennis. Unfortunately, I suck. So, I abide my time by taking my camera along when we all decide to hit the courts. Just thought I'd share a little...
The baby Sister, Lacy - Check out all those freckles!
Happy now Mom? lol.
#1 Brother - Corey.
Soon to be brother in law - Sam.
The Dad - check out that action face!
#2 Brother - Tanner.
Just had to add this one in here too.
Another quick PS to the family...
